Ancient Agora

The Agora, or marketplace, formed the political heart ancient Athens from 600 BC. It was also the centre of commercial, administrative and social activities. Socrates was indicted and executed here in 399 BC

The Temple of Theseion was built in 449 BC  and dedicated to the gods Hephaistos and Athena. It is the best preserved ancient temple in Greece.
