This is our last day in Wales. We will visit Cardiff Bay, Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales before taking the train back to London.

The Hayes is a pedestrianized shopping area in Cardiff city centre. It is just behind our hotel.

Cardiff Marriott Hotel

We checked into the hotel before returning the car.





Our rooms included the use of the Executive Lounge

Llandaff Cathedral Cardiff

The present building dates back to the Norman period c1120. It is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul and three Welsh saints: Dubricius, Teilo and Oudoceus.



We came here first because it is outside the city centre and while we still have the car

We were back in Cardiff after our tour around Wales in the following order:

Caerleon Amphitheatre

This amphitheatre was built in AD 90 to entertain the Roman soldiers stationed here. 



The arena is oval in shape





It has eight entrances





Three Romans and One Celt


Tintern Abbey

The Abbey was founded in 1131 by the Cistercian Order. In the 1500s the monastic life in England and Wales was brought to an abrupt end by Henry VIII. The Abbey fell into ruin after the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century.
