Dulle Griet

This is a giant cannon sitting on the embankment of River Leie. It was cast in 1450 and weighs 16 tonnes.

Graffiti Street

Graffiti is officially sanctioned here. Any graffiti artist is welcomed to express himself and the only rule here is respect better work than your own. As such, the graffiti here changes all the time since one will always think that one's work is better than the other.

Public toilets

There are many free public toilets for men in Ghent. The are just open air urinals placed on the pavement. They are so public that the public can see what you are up to.

I guess men need less privacy to do our thing

Just could not resist the temptation to try...

Where beer meets chocolate

It is certainly a very good combination since the beer is good and chocolates are delicious. And both aplenty.

Het Gravensteen

It means " Castle of the Counts" in Dutch. The castle was built in 1180 by Count Philip of Alsace. It served as the seat for the Counts of Flanders until the 14th century. The castle was later used as courthouse and prison before being abandoned.

It is an arms museum
