Hatshepsut Temple

This temple was built for Queen Hatshepsut in the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. She was the daughter of Tuthmosis I. She married her half-brother Tuthmosis II. When Tuthmosis II passed away and was succeeded by Tuthmosis III, son by a minor wife. As he was young, Hatshepsut was appointed regent but ruled as pharoah for 20 years.
