Luxor Pass

The Standard Luxor Pass is valid for 5 consecutive days and allows multiple entry into all sites on the West Bank and East Bank of Luxor. The Standard pass costs USD100 for adults and USD50 for students. However, this pass does not include the entry fees to the  two most beautiful tombs in the entire necropolis i.e the Tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings and the Tomb of Queen Nefertari in the Valley of the Queens.

The Premium Luxor Pass which costs USD200 for adults and USD100 for students includes the entry fees for both the above tombs. We bought the Standard Luxor Pass. Do not buy the Premium Pass because the total entry fees for the Tomb of Seti I (EGP1000) and the Tomb of Queen Nefertari (EGP1400) is less than the extra USD100.

I would recommend that you buy the Standard Luxor Pass if you intend to visit Luxor for at least 2 days. We were in Luxor for 3 days. This saves you from queuing for tickets at every site you go and because some sites do not sell tickets and the tickets offices are away from the sites. The biggest advantage is that the pass entitles you to visit all the tombs that are open in the Valley of the Kings, instead of only 3 with your normal ticket.

Take note that your USD100 bill must be brand new and in perfect condition. Otherwise it will not be accepted. Lastly, do not forget your EGP30 tips. The officer sitting in front of us took forever to sign our passes. Then we realized that we had to reward him for his hard work  first.
