Pyramid of Khufu

The oldest pyramid in Giza and  the largest in Egypt. Built by Khufu during the Old Kingdom and completed in 2570 BC.

Its original height was 146m. Now it is 139 due to erosion and the absence of its pyramidion.

About 2.3 million limestone blocks each weighing about 2.5 tonnes with some stones at the base weighing as much as 15 tonnes were used in the construction of this pyramid.
