Tomb of Tausert/Setnakht (KV14)

This ia a joint tomb of Tausert and Setnakht. Tausert began to build this tomb when she was the queen of Seti II. When she became a Pharaoh, this tomb was enlarged in keeping with her status. She was buried here when she died.

One of the many stories of how Setnakht came to be buried here is this. Setnakht built his own tomb (KV11) but when he died, his son Ramses III decided to keep the tomb for himself. He then extended this tomb and buried Setnakht together with Tausert. No one knows what actually happened. Only Pharaoh knows.

This tomb consists of two burial chambers

Tausert with Horus, Anubis and Thoth

Tausert, Osiris and the four sons of Horus

Was it unfinished or left on purpose?

The corridor leading to the burial chamber of Setnakht seems unfinished

Perhaps the colour has faded

They are farming; are not sweeping the floor.

His mummy was also found in tomb KV35
