Tomb of Siptah (KV47)

Siptah was a Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty during the New Kingdom. He succeeded Seti II.  He became Pharaoh at a young age and his step mother Tausert was his regent. He died a few years later at 16 and Tausert became Pharaoh herself. Young king dies before he is old enough to rule. Regent takes over. Sound familiar?

Siptah's mummy was not in the sarcophagus. In 1898, his mummy was found along with 18 others in a mummy cache in the tomb of Amenhotep II (KV35)
