Ramses III is regarded as the last great Pharaoh of Egypt. He was the son of Setnakht and father of Ramses IV. Setnakht started this tomb but had to abandon it because it ran into an earlier tomb of Amenmesse. Ramses III continued the construction of the tomb by veering right to avoid the earlier tomb.
