The three Gates of Baptistery of San Giovanni

The three famous bronze gates of the Baptistery of San Giovanni are kept in the Opera del Duomo Museum. The ones in situ are replicas.

In 1425 Lorenzo gilberti was commissioned to build a second bronze door and it took him 27 years to complete the door
