It is difficult to call a taxi in Florence. They only speak Italian. We couldn't call a taxi yesterday. So we planned to go back to the hotel today and asked the receptionist to call a taxi for us.

Walking up the hill didn't appeal to us. We took a taxi up the hill to Basilica San Miniato al Monte and thereafter walked to Piazzale Michelangelo.
