Zhongshan Bridge

This 234 m long and 7.5 m wide bridge was completed in 1907. It was renamed Zhongshan Bridge to commemorate Dr Sun Yatsen.

By the time the Yellow River reaches Lanzhou, it has become muddy brown, having picked up soil, silt and industrial waste along the way. Once the "cradle of Chinese civilization", now it is one of the world's most polluted rivers.
