Jiayuguan

The Jiayuguan fortress is located at the narrowest point of the Hexi Corridor. It was built in 1372 during the Ming Dynasty. It is the western end of the Great Wall.



It is surrounded by barren land of the Gobi Desert



The northern and southern walls of the fortress are connected to the Great Wall.
