Marienbrucke

The Mareinbrucke (Mary's Bridge) is also known as the Neuschwanstein Bridge. King Maximillian II built a wooden footbridge across the Pollat Gorge in 1845 for his wife Marie of Prussia. King Ludwig II replaced it with an iron bridge during the construction of the Neuschwanstein Castle. The  bridge spans acrosss the gorge without support and was considered an engineering feat in its time

This bridge provides a perfect view of the Neuschwanstein Castle
