The castle existed since the 12th century. King Maximillian bought it in 1832 and rebuilt it according to its original plan. King Ludwig II spent his childhood here and decided to build Neuschwanstein Castle for himself. Sadly, no photography is allowed inside.
There is a Palace Garden beside the castle with four fountains.
