The provencal city of Arles lies in the south of France. Arles was founded by the Greeks. It was conquered by the Romans in 123 BC. The power of Arles in ancient times is evidenced by the Roman buildings still standing today. It was also known as Little Rome. The monuments were listed as a Word Heritage Site in 1981. Van Gogh spent his final years in Arles painting 200 canvases.

We did not see many people in the town. The town was so quiet like a deserted place. Maybe it was not during tourists season. But where are the locals?
