Vishandel Groene Hart

We walked pass this shop and decided to try the local Dutch food here. The Dutch has a tradition of eating maatjes (herring). They are made from young immature herrings that are ripened for a couple of days in oak barrels in a salty solution or brine. Kibbeling is a deep fried battered fish and Zalmslaat  is a salmon salad.
