Our hotel pick up was a 7.30 am. The distance to Wadi Natrun is about 120km and it took us 2 hours with a pit stop. This isolated valley made it an ideal place for early Christians escaping the Roman persecution. Initially they lived in caves but over the years they built many monasteries but only four remain today.
