The name of the college is just Christ Church. The word "college" was omitted because it is thought that having the word "college" would diminished its function as a cathedral. Christ Church is unique in that it has a cathedral as its college chapel. Christ Church Cathedral is the cathedral of the diocese Oxford serving Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
