Beaumaris Castle

Construction of this castle began in 1295. It is the finest of all the great Edwardian castles in Wales. It has the most perfect example of symmetrical concentric "wall within wall" design and was regarded as the pinnacle of military engineering during its time.

This last and greatest castle of Edward I was never completed. It is now a World Heritage Site.
