Petra : Our Routes

The Monastery

We decided to spend two days in Petra because many of the travel guides and websites we read recommended  at least two days in order to see the main sites in Petra.

Day 1

We reached Petra about 9.00 in the morning. We took the following route:

Bab el-Siq
The Siq
The Treasury
The Theatre
The City of Petra
El Habis Crusader Fortress
Lunch at the Basin Restaurant

The Monastery
The High Place of Sacrifice

Then back to the Siq and Bab el-Siq. It was about 7.00 pm when we reached the ticketing office

Day 2
We reached Petra about 9.00 in the morning

The Siq
The Treasury
The Royal Tombs
Sextus Florentinus Tomb
Petra Church

Lunch at the Basin Restaurant

We left Petra using the back road by donkey  to a Bedouin village then by car to the ticketing office. We went to Wadi Rum in the afternoon and  visited Little Petra the next day.
