Vatican Museum

No visit to Rome is complete without seeing the Vatican Museum. The exhibits are the priceless works of art accumulated by the popes. The work from two periods of Michelangelo's life is reflected in the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo's frescoed the ceiling between 1508 and 1512. He worked on the Last Judgment alone for seven years until its completion in 1541. The Last Judgment is considered to be the masterpiece of Michelangelo's mature years.
