We will go to Marseille today. We first took the train from Avignon Centre to Avignon TGV station. The journey by high speed train is about 34 minutes direct.
We had our dinner here again as this Nikkei cuisine is rather nice and there isn't any back home. We also did not want to walk further into the old town.
We took the train back to Avignon transiting at Nimes. Both stations were empty.
This church was built in the 13th century as a parish church dedicated to St Michael. It is now the seat of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Carcassonne and Narbonne replacing the Basilique of St Nazaire.
We stopped here for crepe.
We walked on the outer wall before leaving the citadel. The length of the outer wall is about 1.6 km. We only walked part of it.
Access to the inner wall is only through Chateau Comtal. The inner wall essentially provided a second layer of defence.
