The Pantheon

Constructed in 1st century AD and certainly a must see in Rome. Built on a circular base with a hemispherical dome of the same radius with the height of the cylinder, thus giving a perfectly harmonious proportions to the building. A circular opening at the top, the oculus, lets in the only light.

We had our lunch at the restaurant right in front of the Pantheon. A surcharge of 2 euro per person is added to the bill for the "view".
