Romerberg is the public square in the old town of Frankfurt. Like all public squares, it serves as a market place and for celebrations and political meetings.

Students gathered here to burn books by writers who were deemed un-German to the Nazi's ideology. Heune said "where books are burned, people aren’t far behind.” How true.
