Natural History Museum

Natural history is the study of organisms and natural objects and their origin, evolution and interrelationship.

The museum is divided into 5 categories : botany, entomology, mineralogy, paleontology and zoology. The museum is a world-renowned research centre.

The museum was formerly part of the British Museum and was known as British Museum (Natural History) and only became an independent museum with its own trustees after the passing of the British Museum Act 1963.
