Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains is a mountainous region in New South Wales and  was listed as a World Heritage site in 2000.

The Three Sisters

We took the Scenic Railway down to Jamison Valley

It is the steepest railway in the world

At 52 degrees incline over a distance of 415 m

Jamison Valley

It has a coal mining history

Entrance into the mine

I met a friend from Malaysia here

Cable car back to the top

Lunch

Aboriginal legend has it that the rocks are in fact the three sisters. Their father turned them into rocks to protect them from the bunyip (evil spirit) with a magic bone. Unfortunately he lost the magic bone and could not turn them back again.

Perhaps he can help
