St Mary the Great

It is the church of the University Cambridge as well as the principal parish church of the city of Cambridge. A church has stood on this site since the 12th century, but the present St. Mary's Church was built in 1478. This church is considered to be the centre of Cambridge.













No full-time student can be a candidate for a Cambridge degree unless he or she has spent at least three terms of residency in Cambridge i.e residing within the 10 mile radius of Great St Mary's church, throughout one's terms of study,
