Kyahkatwine Teaching Monastery

The monastic schools in Burma accept students from needy families who are unable to attend government schools. The students are taught literacy and numeracy skills as well as Buddhism.

The monks had a sumptuous meal (as compared to their daily meals) that day as a family had sponsored the lunch. We were also invited to join the family for lunch but we politely declined.
