Lennon Wall

During the communist rule, western songs were banned. Lennon sang songs of freedom which did not exist here. When Lennon was murdered in 1980, his picture was painted here together with the graffiti defying the government.

This wall represents not only a memorial to John Lennon but to free speech and non-violent rebellion of the youths.

Today, it is covered with messages of love and peace.
