Notre Dame is french for " Blessed Virgin Mary" . The construction of this cathedral began in 1163 and completed in 1345. Its Gothic architecture is one of the finest in France.
The headless statue of St Denis. Legend has it that he was decapitated by the Romans but he then picked up his head and walked 4 miles before he collapsed. If you see a statue of a saint holding his own head in France, it will be St Denis
