Beihai has developed through the Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties wiith nearly a thousand years of history. It was only opened to the public in 1925 after the fall of the Qing Dynasty.
We entered the park through the South Gate. Our plan was to walk to the Jade Isle and take the boat across to the Nine Dragon Screen. However, we practically walk round the isle and could not find where we could take the boat. So we left through the East Gate and took DiDi to the North Gate.
