Yonghe Gong is more popularly known as the Lama Temple. It is a monastery of the gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. It was constructed in the 17th century and became the residence of Emperor Yongzheng before he ascended the throne in 1722. The main attraction here is the huge Maitreya Buddha.
