Circular Mound Altar 圜丘坛

The altar was constructed in 1530 and rebuilt in 1740. It has three tiers of marble platform. All the structures here including the gates, steps, marbles slabs balustrades are in mutiples of 9. The number 9 is the highest single digit odd number. It symbolises longevity and is associated with the emperor of China
