The Guildhall was built by The Honourable The Irish Society (a consortium of livery companies of the City of London) and named in honour of Londonderry's connection to the City of London and its guilds. It was opened to the public in 1890. It is now home to Derry City and Strabane District Council and Mayor’s Parlour.
