This section of the great wall stretches east to Gubeikou and west to Juyongguan. It defended the capital and the imperial tombs from the "barbarians" from the north. It has on average more watch towers than other sections of the great wall. There is no direct public transport to Mutianyu compared to Badaling. As such, we chose to come here because there are less tourists.
