We DiDi to the Beijing North Station. Our train was at 0716. It took us 2.5 hours to reach Datong which is 337 km away. Datong 大同 is a city in Shanxi 山西 Province. It was the capital of the Northern Wei Dynasty from 398 to 493 before being part of the Liao and Jin Dynasty. It is also known as the coal capital of China.
