Aswan - Crossing the River Nile

The Tombs of the Nobles are situated on the West Bank of the River Nile. We walked further up the corniche from where our boat was anchored  to take a boat across the River Nile. We were segregated albeit temporarily as the men will have to sit on the back of the boat while the women at the front.

On the West Bank

About 100m from the landing there is a ticket booth and the tombs are situated at the top of the stairs. We were worried at first as the place was empty and  we were the only visitors there.

It did occur to me that we could have been robbed, killed and buried in the desert and no one will know. Obviously I was wrong.

The view at the top was superb.

We could see the Aswan in the background, feluccas sailing on the River Nile and the lay out of Elephantine Island.

Walking on the edge of the cliff to the tombs.
