Marienberg Fortress

Marienberg Fortress is a symbol of Wurzburg. It served as a home of the local prince-bishops for nearly five centuries but the current structures were built in Renaissance and Baroque styles between the 16th and 18th centuries. Visitors can only visit the fortress on a guided tour. We took a tour in German since there was no English tour available.

We took a taxi up the hill to the fortress for we did not fancy walking up the hill.
