Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of the President of India. The name is also used to denote the entire government buildings in the area.

This is the furthest point we could go
This road leads to India Gate
Our original plan was to visit the National Museum but it was closing in half an hour. So we decided to come here as most places would have closed by 5.00 pm eventhough we would be coming here the following day.
We came back the following morning
The North Secratariat
The South Secretariat
Both secretariats are mirror image of the other
The Rashtrapati Bhavan was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens as the British Viceroy's Palace
The decision to built a residence for the British Viceroy here was taken after King George V decided to relocate the capital of India from Calcutta to New Delhi. It was only after India became a republic that the house was renamed "Rashtrapati Bhavan"
