Chapel Bridge

Chapel Bridge (or Kapellbrucke in German) is the most famous landmark of Lucerne. It was built in c1365 and is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe.

The panels were painted by Hans Heinrich Wagmann in the 17th century

Originally there were 158 of them

Unfortunately only 30 survived after the fire in 1993

The water tower was built before the bridge

We then took the train back to Zurich
