Teti was the first king of the 6th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. The walls in the chamber are inscribed with the the Pyramid Texts in accordance with the practice of the Old Kingdom. Although the Pyramid Texts are found in several pyramids here in Saqqara, this is currently the only place where these ancient funerary writings are accessible to the public.
