Getting back to Fira

We took the cable car up to Fira

We were the last few people at the port

10.00 pm

Grilled Octupus

This was the only taverna open at that time. Luckily we could have our grilled octopus

The Old Port of Skala

Skala was the only port serving Fira until the new port of Athinios took over.

8.41 pm

The port was deserted when we were there even though there was a long queue for the cable car to go down. .

We noticed that the people came here to take the boats back to their cruise ships

Santorini

Santorini lies in the Aegean Sea and is part of the Cyclades islands. Thira is the island's ancient and official name. However, the Greeks prefer its medieval name, Santorini. It is known for its whitewashed villages, blue-domed churches, dramatic volcanic cliffs and spectacular sunsets.

The Church of Ipapanti

The shops and restaurants are situated along the coast overlooking the caldera. We spent the evening exploring this place.
