We are going to Switzerland

We are flying to Switzerland tomorrow. I shall continue my posts on Egypt upon our return.

Switzerland is a scenic country and we will be taking the Gotthard Panorama Express, the Bernina Express and the Glacier Express trains in the Swiss Alps. We will visit Zurich, Lucerne, Bern, St Gallen and Appenzell. I have not completed my itinerary on Lugano, Zermatt and Interlaken. Rest assured it will be completed by the time I reach Zurich since I only have to decide on the sites to visit. 

Pyramid of Hawara

We travelled further south to the Pyramid of Hawara. This pyramid was built by Amenemhet III in the Old Kingdom. It has collapsed and is closed to the public.

This pyramid stands alone in the desert. We walked around the pyramid before leaving.

This huge mastaba is simply known as Mastaba 17. It is 100m long and 50m wide.

Pyramid of Meidum : The Temple

On the eastern face of the pyramid is a small temple. There is no evidence of when or to whom the temple was built.

We were the only visitors to the pyramid that morning. The pyramid guard led us into the pyramid. This time there were only the three of us inside the pyramid.
