Akrotiri is a Minoan town preserved just like Pompeii. The excavations here have uncovered one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean.
A model of the site
The first habitation at the site dates from the 4th Century BC
Akrotiri was buried by the Theran eruption in the 2nd Century BC and as such was remarkably preserved like Pompeii.
