Dates back to the 9th century, but occupies the shell of a 4th century christian church.

Church of St Sergius and St Barbara

The Church of St Sergius owes its reputation to the widely held belief that the Holy Family took shelter in a cave on this spot during their "Flight into Egypt"

Since the church was built, the ground level has risen. You now need to go down a flight of stairs.

This Museum is a must see in Cairo. The highlights of the Museum for me are the Tutankhamun Galleries and the Royal Mummy Room. Unfortunately, no photograhy is allowed.
