The hypostyle hall was constructed by the Roman between AD 41-54 during the reign of Emperor Claudius. There are 24 columns inscribed with hieroglyphs and texts describing the festivals of Esna. Cartouches of Roman emperors such as Claudius, Vespasian, Titus were inscribed here and the last emperor mentioned is Decius who died in AD 249.
The columns are topped with different capitals such as palm leaves, lotus bud and papyrus fans
This temple has one of the last hieroglyphic inscription dating to AD 250 before the ability to read the writing was lost
