Togetsukyo Bridge

It has been the landmark of Arashiyama in western Kyoto for over 400 years.



Togetsukyo literally means "moon crossing bridge"



The current bridge was built in 1934



It looks wooden but has columns made of concrete



The bridge cuts the river into two halves



The river is called Honsu River on the west side of the bridge and Katsura River on the east side
