The cheese sold here are not exported because of limited production. We learnt that the Gouda cheese in yellow wax is not for export. They only export Gouda cheese in red wax. There are many flavours from truffle to chilli pepper to charcoal.

Vishandel Groene Hart

We walked pass this shop and decided to try the local Dutch food here. The Dutch has a tradition of eating maatjes (herring). They are made from young immature herrings that are ripened for a couple of days in oak barrels in a salty solution or brine. Kibbeling is a deep fried battered fish and Zalmslaat  is a salmon salad.
