Tomb of Tutankhamun (KV62)

Tutankhamun was the son of Akhenaten. He was originally named Tutankhaten. He was born during the Amarna Period in the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom. He ascended the throne at the age of 9 and died at 19 (1336-1327 BC). He is the most famous Pharaoh although with no great battles or building to his name. It is all due to the treasures that was found in his tomb. It is the only tomb found so far in the valley of the Kings that has not been plundered.

The wall has large painting of Tutankhamun and the gods

I think the baboons represent Thoth

Tutankhamun's mummy

The only tomb here with a mummy

This is a small tomb and would be considered to be insignificant by archaeologists if not for the treasures found therein.
